Kỹ thuật vi tính đã giúp các nhạc sĩ tiết kiệm chi phí trong việc thể hiện tác phẩm qua việc sử dụng các phần mềm soạn nhạc và các nhạc cụ ảo - virtual instruments.

Trước khi có nhạc cụ ảo là các bộ âm thanh - sound modules và trước khi có các bộ âm thanh là... các nhạc công! Làm nhạc trên vi tính với các bộ âm thanh hoặc với các nhạc cụ ảo giúp giảm những thiếu sót về chất lượng âm thanh do trình độ và thiết bị thu âm sống không đạt chuẩn.

Để giúp các bạn hiểu thêm về nhạc trên vi tính, tôi xin được lược kể một số phần mềm ứng dụng như sau:

1. Phần Mềm Soạn Nhạc/Âm Thanh Chuyên Nghiệp:

- Trên PC: Sonar (của Cakewalk), Cubase/Nuendo (của Steinberg), Samplitude/Sequoia/ MAGIX Music Studio (của MAGIX), SAW (của RML Labs), Reason (của Propellerhead), Fruityloops (của Image Line).

- Trên Mac: Logic Studio (của Apple), Protools (của Digidesign), Digital Performer (của Mark Of The Unicorn - MOTU).

Các nhạc sĩ sáng tác và hòa âm tại Saigon quen sử dụng nhiều nhất là Sonar, sau đó đến Cubase, Nuendo và ít người sử dụng Protools (do bị phụ thuộc vào thiết bị audio tương thích và phải dùng máy vi tính Mac).

2. Các Nhạc Cụ Ảo:

Hiện nay có 2 hệ nhạc cụ ảo cho PC: DXi (do Cakewalk phát triển) và VSTi (do Steinberg phát triển) và hệ VSTi chiếm thị phần lớn. Còn hệ RTAS và AU là cho Mac. Một vài nhạc cụ ảo hiện được sử dụng tại Saigon:

- Nhạc cụ giao hưởng: East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra, Vienna Symphonic Orchestra.

- Trống: BFD, Battery, EZ Drummer, Stylus.

- Guitar: Real Guitar, Real Strat, Virtual Guitarist.

- Bass: Trilogy, Hardcore Bass.

- Piano: The Grand 2, Synthogy.

3. Sampler Ảo: GigaStudio, VSampler, Kontakt, Halion, Sampletank.

Ngoài ra, chưa kể đến các loops. Tôi không đề cập đến loops vì đây là "âm nhạc" đã được "chương trình hóa" và người sử dụng chỉ ráp vào với vài thủ thuật đơn giản (thay đổi cung, co giản thời gian cho phù hợp với tempo...) là có thể hoàn tất một bài nhạc - không cần phải sáng tạo gì. Nếu có "sáng tạo" thì chỉ là nghĩ cách như thế nào để ráp các loops này lại nghe cho "tiết tấu" và thành giai điệu "máy móc"!

Phương tiện đã sẳn đấy, chỉ chờ những ý tưởng sáng tạo để "vận hành" và cho ra "lò" các ca khúc đẹp.

-Em cần cái trống za vậy ở đâu có NS Đắc Tâm .
-Các Nhạc Cụ Ảo có hay hơn Sampler Ảo ko .muốn sử dụng Sampler Ảo thì xin ở đâu ?Hay là NS cho em xin bộ trống Za và số Sampler Ảo nhá vậy để em khỏi đi tìm kiếm ở đâu ....Cám ơn NS Đắc Tâm nhé .

"Trống za"? Không hiểu

. Tôi không hiểu tại sao bộ trống thật lại được dân chơi nhạc tại Saigon gọi là trống za (jazz) hay là trống "da" (để chỉ là trống có mặt trống bịt da/nhựa?). Vậy thì trống jazz thật khác với trống rock thật ở chổ nào?

Có sự khác biệt về âm thanh nhạc cụ trên vi tính giữa trống thật và trống điện tử nhưng nếu cả 2 loại trống này đều là nhạc cụ ảo thì ta có thể gọi chung là "trống điện tử" không?

Nhac cụ ảo, nếu đúng là hàng hiệu với giá trên mạng trên USD 200/bộ - vì có nhiều hàng rẻ tiền với giá dưới USD 30/bộ, thì âm thanh nghe y như nhạc cụ/âm thanh thật được ghi âm lại.

Còn sampler chỉ là thiết bị tạo âm thanh từ các samples (mẫu nhạc cụ/âm thanh thật được ghi âm lại). Nếu samples "dởm" được đưa vào sampler thì... âm thanh phát ra sẽ "dởm" luôn.

Trời bên VN sướng quá mua rẻ rề vậy . bên này tôi không thấy cái nào dưới 100 euros nếu mua đồ cũ , còn giá catalogue thì phải tính hơn 350 euros !

Tôi đã lướt qua trang web này. Có nhiều nhạc cụ ảo có chất lượng âm thanh khá tốt và cho tải về miễn phí như: piano điện Rhodes, guitar thùng, guitar bass, các nhạc cụ cổ truyền Trung Quốc (có thể dùng cho nhạc dân ca VN...

NS Đắc Tân ơi ! em muốn tải mấy nhạc cụ mà NS Đắc Tâm đã tải như : piano điện Rhodes, guitar thùng, guitar bass, các nhạc cụ cổ truyền Trung Quốc ,nhưng em không có rành lắm ,em mò hoài cũng chưa tải được nè ...Mong Nhạc Sĩ giúp em nhá .Cám ơn Nhạc Sĩ Đắc Tâm .

Tại em giỏi tiếng Anh quá nên không thể theo hướng dẫn của trang web. Việc download các nhạc cụ này khá phức tạp (với em thôi

) vì phải qua 3 lần nối kết mới có thể tải về được.

Ráng mò đi, khi được rồi thì sẽ thấy mình giỏi hơn.

Em cam on NS ,em da tai ve va da giai nen cac file .zip ,quan trong bay gio la NS giup em trong sona goi ra de su dung .Em xin cam on .

Các files vừa được giải nén có dạng: [tên nhạc cụ].dll
Copy các files này và bỏ vào trong folder: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VSTPlugins.
Khi xong, khởi động Sonar. Nếu Sonar được cài đặt chế độ tự động rà plugins thì Sonar sẽ phát hiện ra ngay các plugins mới này. Nếu không thì phải cho Sonar rà các plugins mới cài đặt vào.

- Mở một bài nhạc mới. Mặc định của Sonar sẽ có 4 tracks: 2 tracks audio và 2 tracks MIDI.

- Nhập nhạc cụ ảo bằng cách: mở Synth Rack và chọn nhạc cụ ảo cần thiết.

- Chọn track MIDI và click vào rảnh Output để chọn nhạc cụ ảo.

Rồi thì... soạn nhạc trên track MIDI có nhạc cụ ảo này.

Chào NS Đắc Tâm ! Em đã làm theo lời hướng dẫn của NS và được rùi .Qua đàn organ hoặc viết nốt bằng tay vào track mid và gọi VSTi vào track audio thì nghe các âm thanh VSTi cũng được ;Thích nhất là tiếng của DSK ASIAN(pipa - luan - Guzhen - percussion ..) của trung Quốc nghe lạ tai ...Em cám ơn NS Đắc Tâm đã chỉ dẫn tận tình .

Chao NS Dac Tam em la thanh vien moi nen ko biet ghi co dau nhu the nao nen dung del bai em nhe. Cho phep em duoc hoi NS Dac Tam van de nay nhe. Ko biet day co phai la cho de hoi ve van de do ko nhung cung mao muoi hoi NS o day vay hic.
Neu em muon dua midi tu may vi tinh sang Pad Trong thi em phai lam the nao va co can phai co pham mem gi ko vi khi dua qua pad thi con phai gan cho moi pad la moi tieng cho nen em nghi chac la phai co them phan mem gi do nua dung ko NS Dac Tam a? Neu NS biet ve phan nay xin NS hay giup do em a. Cam on NS Dac Tam nhieu neu duoc su giup do cua NS.

Chào em kiettran99. Để đánh chữ tiếng Việt có dấu, em phải có chương trình viết tiếng Việt như Unikey và chọn cách đánh tiếng Việt là Unicode với font chữ Arial, Tahoma hoặc Verdana.

Để hiểu MIDI, em nên tải về 2 bài viết "Căn Bản về MIDI" đăng trong Diễn Đàn Giai Điệu Xanh để đọc (trong mục Hướng Dẫn Sử Dụng Phần Mềm/Nuendo 3).

Em đang sử dụng loại trống điện tử gì hay em có bộ pad trống được gắn vào một sound module trống Roland/Alesis/Yamaha? Nếu em sử dụng loại trống điện tử có phần làm sequencer trống và nếu nhạc cụ trống này cho phép nhận và lưu file MIDI thì em mới chuyển file MIDI trống vào máy này được (qua cổng đĩa mềm hoặc USB). Còn nếu chỉ là pad để truyền tín hiệu (khi em gõ vào pad) kích hoạt âm thanh trống của bộ tiếng trống (drum module) thì không thể chuyển MIDI vào pad được.

File MIDI chỉ có tín hiệu mà thôi, KHÔNG BAO GIỜ CÓ ÂM THANH. Để có âm thanh, phải nối kết thiết bị truyền tín hiệu MIDI với bộ âm thanh (soundcard, sound module).

Hãy đọc tài liệu về MIDI trước khi hỏi anh tiếp

A. MIDI:

Em nói gì mà tôi không thể hiểu được. Tài liệu giải thích về MIDI đăng trong Diễn Đàn là cho những ai chưa biết MIDI là gì đọc để mà hiểu. Em nói là em có đọc nhưng vì "hiểu biết của em về MIDI còn mù mờ lắm" nếu không có người giải thích trực tiếp thì em không hiểu được, vậy thì em không phải là người tự học được. Và hiện nay, có ai mở lớp dạy MIDI chưa? Mà nếu có mở thì... không có ai chịu bỏ tiền để học cả vì... học để làm cái gì đây chứ?

Tôi đã từng có ý định soạn tài liệu về MIDI, về soạn nhạc trên Cakewalk nhưng rồi bỏ ý định này vì sau khi tham khảo quan điểm và ý kiến của nhiều bạn chơi nhạc, tôi hiểu là:
1. Những người biết làm MIDI qua tự mài mò trên phần mềm thì nghĩ là không cần phải học MIDI vì đã biết làm rồi!
2. Còn những ai chưa biết MIDI nhưng muốn làm nhạc trên PC thì lại nghĩ MIDI không có liên quan gì đến nhạc trên PC nên... học MIDI để làm gì?

Cho tôi hỏi:
- Alesis DM5 có ra âm thanh được không nếu không nối kết pad trống với DM5 và nối kết DM5 với bộ tăng âm (ampli)?

- Pad trống có ra âm thanh được không nếu không có âm thanh trống ngay ở trong bộ pad này và nếu không nối bộ pad trống này với bộ tăng âm?

Híc chắc có lẽ em đúng là người như NS nói rồi. Em sẽ cố gắng dành nhiều thời gian để tìm hiểu thêm về nó nhưng NS có thể cho em biết là khi em kết nối Laptop với 1 bộ pad trống có đường midi in, out và USB và muốn đưa các file tiếng của trống từ laptop gán cho từng mặt trên bộ pad trống đó để đánh mà ko cần phải dùng đến hộp Alesis DM5 hay bất kì 1 hộp tiếng trống nào khác thì có được hay ko và có cần phải có phần mềm gì để hổ trợ hay ko thưa NS?

Sẵn đây NS có thể hướng dẫn em sử dụng phần mềm BFD2 ko ạ em tìm và down về nhưng ko biết cách sử dụng nó híc híc. Cảm ơn NS đã tận tình với em để em có thể viết được tiếng việt trên DD

Chào bạn kiettran99. Làm sao mà gán tiếng trống vào pad trống được. Khi bạn gõ vào, pad trống sẽ chuyển tín hiệu MIDI gồm có các thông tin: thứ tự note theo bàn phím piano tương ứng với từng tiếng trống trong bộ âm thanh trống (drum module), vị trí thời gian (theo nhịp phách) của note này, độ mạnh nhẹ (velocity) của note. Tín hiệu MIDI này sẽ kích hoạt bộ âm thanh trống phát ra âm trống tương ứng.
VST (Kỹ Thuật Phòng Thu Ảo) cho phép sử dụng các nhạc cụ ảo (virtual instruments) trong đó có trống (BFD2 mà bạn đã tải đuợc là một trong nhiều bộ trống ảo khác: EZ Drummer, DrumCore, Battery 3, iDrums... Bạn nối pad trống vào PC qua cổng USB MIDI, mở bộ trống ảo trong PC ra (nếu phần mềm trống này có chế độ standalone-hoạt động riêng một mình, không lệ thuộc vào phần mềm soạn nhạc), khai báo cổng nhận tín hiệu MIDI trong bộ trống ảo rồi bạn hãy gõ vào pad, âm thanh trống sẽ phát ra... từ cổng audio của PC.
Bạn cần phải học MIDI từ căn bản để có thể "chơi" được nhạc cụ ảo.

Xĩn lỗi tuy rằng mình ko hiểu lắm nhưng nếu như chỉ đơn giản như bạn nói thì ví dụ như nối pad qua PC rồi mở bộ trống ảo ra sau đó gõ vào pad âm thanh sẽ phát ra như bạn nói thì cho mình hỏi vậy thì trên hộp pad có tất cả là 8 pad thì pad này sẽ kêu tiếng gì và pad kia sẽ kêu tiếng gì? và nếu muốn pad này ra tiếng khác thì sao bạn hiểu ko?
Ý của mình ở đây là có cần khai báo gì cho pad để máy tính hiểu được là khi gõ lên pad này thì nó sẽ nhận tín hiệu và ra tiếng gì và tương tự trên các pad khác sẽ ra tiếng khác theo ý của người sử dụng. Chắc có lẽ bạn ko hiểu ý của mình muốn hỏi híc híc

Khi bạn gõ vào pad sẽ kích hoạt một phím midi (đuợc đánh số) tạo ra một message tới nhạc cụ ảo, để chọn tiếng cho pad thì bạn mở nhạc cụ ảo và thay đổi tiếng cho phím midi đó. Âm sắc cho từng phím thay đổi theo từng bộ nhạc cụ ảo, người ta thường dùng drum map của general midi, bạn có thể tham khảo drum map của general midi bằng cách nhìn vào ký hiệu của nhạc cụ gõ ngay dưới mỗi phím trên đàn keyboard thông dụng của yamaha hoặc casio. Nhân tiện, tôi giải thích thêm về drum map,có thể tạm gọi đó là sơ đồ định danh bộ gõ trên phím đàn, mỗi nhạc cụ gõ sẽ được gán cho một phím khác nhau. Các bộ trống ảo có thể có nhiều drum map khác nhau nhưng thông dụng nhất là drum map của general midi

About the performer
This Jazz EZX features samples performed by the legendary Drum Virtuoso/Pioneer Roy ”Futureman” Wooten.

Futureman is a multiple Grammy award winning composer, inventor, and multi-instrumentalist who have been a pioneer in using sampled drums since 1985. He has shared the stage and numerous albums with many Jazz legends.

Roy started playing acoustic drums as a young child with his brothers in Virginia. From that he has come a long way and is now renowned for playing what is called a SynthAxe-Drumitar to trigger drum samples.

As an instrumentalist Roy Wooten strives to employ the power and science of Mother Nature and his percussive technique takes playing drums way beyond just simple time keeping. His approach is a much more all-encompassing and universal one. Futureman views himself as a storyteller playing music to reach beyond the limits of common musical understanding.

He invented and built the Drumitar to be able to voice his own revolutionary approach to Jazz with the groundbreaking group Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. As a result Futureman has performed using Toontrack Music samples to an audience of millions, live at some of the most popular and critically revered performance halls, clubs, TV shows and festivals on the planet. Through Roy Wooten our sounds have made it through to the airwaves of places like Carnegie Hall and premier Greenwich Village Jazz club Blue Note.

About the sessions
Throughout our history of creating sample libraries and instruments, we have strived to both innovate and preserve in all areas of performance, engineering, and genre.
In creating this library we went to new and unheard of levels of dynamic. The recordings feature layered sampling with numerous mic stems fronted by recording chains we had previously only dreamt of.

In the fall of 07', we began the Jazz with Futureman at the impeccable Blackbird Studios. His passion and knowledge of Jazz history met with a relentlessly energetic and musical approach to single note striking that left the Toontrack crew in utter disbelief.

Roy hears every single hit and swirl recorded as part of a larger whole, as part of a musical sequence rather than as solitary, monotonous hit. The results are samples that strike with intensity and force lending unique scope and musicality to these recordings.

The recordings for the Jazz EZX set a benchmark for how sampling percussive instruments, and musical instruments in general, will be done in the future.

Toontrack Music has had the privilege to capture the magic of Futureman. His touch, his heart, his philosophy and his unique approach to his craft in this Jazz EZX. The story of jazz drums has a new chapter.

Bowed Piano

What happens when you take a perfectly good instrument - one thats been around for hundreds of years - and completely rethink it?
Many musicians have dug their hands into the piano, John Cage prepared it with bolts between the strings, others have strummed it or hit it with their hands, but one of the most ethereal and unorthodox techniques is that of bowed piano.

Drone Fishing

First suggested by the composer Curtis Curtis-Smith in 1972, the technique uses flexible bows made from monofilament nylon fishing-line which are then coated in rosin. The nylon is threaded under the strings, and the performer can coax a sustained tone from the piano.
Bowed piano has since been adopted and expanded upon by various other composers, including George Crumb and more extensively by Stephen Scott.

The Soniccouture Bowed Piano Instruments

The Soniccouture Bowed Piano instrument was recorded using a 9 foot Baldwin Grand, a popular model with Bowed practitioners. A matched pair of Bruel & Kjaer microphones were the only choice to capture such a sound. Each key has alternate samples to prevent repetition of attack transients, and there are 3 articulations per key - Normal bowing, Hard bowing, and short, staccato bows. The Normal and Hard samples are looped long, for infinite sustain. When playing, you can crossfade from normal to hard bowing using the mod-wheel, and the staccato bows are activated via a keyswitch.

The Sound.

The ultimate pad-sound? Organic, shape-shifting, massive, foreboding yet delicate.. The sound of the Bowed Piano is incredibly versatile, very musical and completely unique. It seems to strike a middle-ground somewhere between a synthesiser pad and a stringed instrument and manages to sound like neither. A sound that adds space and movement to a composition, also bringing a magical, shimmering high end and baleful character that evokes so much.

Not a Piano sound, not a string sound, but as essential as both those instruments..

Vienna Symphonic Library Orchestral Cube Pro

The Vienna Symphonic Library announced the August 2003 release of its Pro Edition, which more than doubles the size and dimension of the First Edition. The First Edition was released last year, and will continue to be available.

With nearly 360,000 samples containing over 240 GB of data, the Pro Edition of the Vienna Symphonic Library is the largest sample library created. The Pro Edition further refines the instruments already included in the First Edition, with a multitude of new expressive possibilities, and expands in scope with completely new instruments and playing techniques. Unique instruments and articulations include solo contrabass trombone, solo Wagner tuba, string ensembles con sordino in all articulations (staccato, d tach , pizzicato, tremolo, sforzato, legato, repetitions, more), col legno, sul ponticello, flautando, Bart k (snap) pizzicatos, finger tremolos, flutter tongues for all woodwinds, a second solo flute (making up a flute quartet together with the first flute, the piccolo and the alto flute), drum ensembles and many more.

The Percussion set of the Orchestral Cube is the largest percussion collection of all time with 22 GB of data. And at over 18,000 samples, the solo violin makes a debut on the virtual stage of the Vienna Symphonic Library. Beyond the violin's wide-ranging legato and repetition performances and the glissandos and runs contained in the Performance Set of the Pro Edition, the d tach and spiccato performances of the solo violin hint at the ultimate power of the complete Vienna Symphonic Library.

The Performance Set will also include new, authentic articulations, such as tremolos and glissandos for all string ensembles, and for the very first time, repetition performances for the drums, including timpani. This is all supported by the enhanced Performance Tool, which is a suite of revolutionary software performance utilities developed, and used exclusively by the Vienna Symphonic Library. The Performance Tool provides unparalleled levels of expression and authenticity, and in real-time.

Many users have expressed a desire to use as many samples as possible on their computer at one time. Since it is not possible to include both a 16-bit and a 24-bit version on one set of DVDs (due to the huge amounts of storage required), the Pro Edition will be released in 16-bit. However, the Symphonic Cube, the first hard disk edition which is due for release in early 2004, will offer options for all users. All of the samples will be included in both 24-bit and 16-bit resolution. Users will be able to configure the library for optimum audio quality or system capabilities, according to their needs.

The current prices for the First Edition products end on July 31, 2003. There will be a slight price increase of the First Edition beginning August 1, 2003. The price for the Orchestral Cube is $2,100.

nhạc si (Thầy) Đắc tâm em mơi za nhap vao dien dan cua minh, that su bay gio em moi thay mo mang tam mat, thay oi cho em hoi thay phoi nhac thay dung Bass nao vay thay, sao em xai nhieu loại Bass ma em khong ung cai nao het chang han như: Daimensin, Hyper, trylogi v.v em nghe tieng khong tron và khong chắc tieng thay co the chi giao cho e dc không thay.

Em hãy đọc các bài hướng dẫn mix trên PC. Vấn đề của em là: em chưa biết sử dụng các FX plugins. Các bạn, khi làm nhạc MIDI + nhạc cụ ảo hoặc ngay cả thu âm nhạc cụ live, thường để nguyên bản, không dám sử dụng preamp, compressor, EQ. Sai lầm rất lớn!!! Có lẽ các bạn nghe chỉ bảo đâu đó là âm thanh thu nghe tốt rồi thì để y nguyên đừng chỉnh sửa. Đúng là như vậy, nhưng những âm thanh cần phải làm nổi bật trên nền nhạc, như bass, kick, snare, nhạc cụ solo, giọng hát... thì phải được xử lý bằng FX plugins trước khi mix.
